Definition of Betrayal

What is Betrayal?

Paradigmatic innovation requires betrayal.

Paradigmatic change is not an improvement of an existing world, but a total rupture. You will need to leave a world behind. This is a very difficult thing to do. You will feel deeply torn, uncertain and out of your depth. You will be judged as crazy, mistaken, dumb… On top of this you will have no guarantee that you are onto anything worthwhile. This state of being is not the same as being comfortable with failure. It is a deeply unsettling uncertainty that does not go away.
