What is Escalation?

Much of our solution oriented thinking that ignores the systemic nature of reality tends to escalate the very issues it is trying to address. E.g addressing hunger by sending surplus grain to Africa has led to the collapse of farming as prices are held artificially below what is sustainable for an African farmer.

This is usually the outcome of taking problems to be objective.
