Anti-Creative Practices

What are anti-creative practices? Well, today, creativity has become a massive buzzword. We even have a class of people who are purported to possess some unique creative capacity: “creatives.”

And we have long had experts who claim that creativity is some internal human capacity that can be measured much like IQ.

These are all deeply problematic concepts, resting on flawed assumptions about creativity. But more than simply being problematic – they are concepts that actively lead us in anti-creative directions.

And it is because of this that we have spent considerable time uncovering and explicating both how and why we have these concepts and how and why they undermine the very possibility of creative practices emerging whatsoever.
